The superbowl…. Broncos win in 24-17. hahahah Makell will be happy!

i have changes next week! haha whoo!

i heard that toucans visit in the spring and the summer… yes, those AWESOME birds. They come in black, red, yellow, and green i guess. i am really excited!

i have decided i am going to the first byu football game of 2015. it doesnt matter if it is at home or on the road.

i had a pretty good week. We put in some serious work! i love seeing lives change. i baptized C. R still doesn’t have a date, but we found he wants to be baptized. Only challenge is he would feel bad if he had to miss church to work. We will see what we can do, hope to put a date with him tomorrow.

i am learnring to play “I like to look for rainbows” on the uke so i can play it at baptisms. i think that would be really cool and different.

Elder Cook was awesome man. No question that he is an apostle of the Lord. He said some interesting things. First off, 3/4 of the 3 missions here in El Salvador have been out under 1 year. Next, 4 or 5 members of the 12 apostles dish out 300 to 400 mission calls  every Friday. That is insane. Sometimes they look at a picture and know what mission president they need. Or that the missionary needs to learn Spanish or French, etc. Sometimes they have to go back to a missionary again because they feel he needs to go somewhere else. haha. It was really good and really spiritual!  I learned a ton.

I also learned that D&C 112 is the first time that missionaries preached the gospel outside of North America. Kind of cool!

I have really learned the purpose of my mission while being here. I have seen lives change, as well as their families.  As a result of my service. I would not change anything about my decision to serve the Lord. This is honestly the best decision I have made. I love BYU sports and my American food, but really, this work is so important. I am really grateful for all the love and support you guys give me. I hope my hard work is making you guys proud of me and helping you guys understand the importance of this church. Nothing about this church is wrong. We don’t understand some things, but really, it is all of God. Everything in the Bible matches up with everything that happens in the church. Every other single church has things that go against what Christ taught when he was here on the earth.  I love the church and the mission!   I am pumped to have 5 months under my belt, but pumped to still have 19 months as well!   Gonna work hard. Please do you part to make my service worth it.   I am here to not only bless myself and investigators, but to bless my family. When my family doesn’t take advantage of my service and SACRIFICE it really hurts.  It takes a lot for me to be here.  If you guys think it is hard on you, times that by 283793275 and that is how it is for me some days.  Some days I can’t stand my comp.  I don’t have money.  I am hot tired and don’t feel good.  I can’t speak Spanish some days. Some days I just want to watch some sports or chill and listen to some Michael Buble.  I wouldn’t change anything.  I need to be here because people have to hear about the church.   Do your part, go to church, fulfill responisibilities, and listen to parents.

Thanks for everything!  I love you all!    Hurrah for Israel!    Back to work.

Hey everything this week was good and really fast! This change has flown! Usually changes are 6 weeks, but this is 8 weeks because of Christmas. We are on week 6 right now, really crazy. I have a feeling I will be training after this change. We’ll see. Oh, and today is my 5 month mark. Kind of cool
I want to touch on the nonspiritual thing first. Well, I have grown a love for blow torching cockroaches and spiders. Sometimes i will search around the yard just to do it. It really builds my testosterone. It is really cool.
We are working really hard here to change the branch!  We just weren’t progressing like we should have. We have really began to turn things around. It started with little lessons with members and ward activities. We have hit ward leadership meetings really hard to try and fix some of the little, easy mistakes. As a result, we have been getting more references and lessons with members which is awesome. References are gold. Really, refer people to missionaries! Even if they dont want to accept, you are at least showing the elders in your area that you have a desire to help the work of the Lord.
We snagged a baptism date last night with Christian. He had been struggling to find a testimony, but we finally found out what his doubt was. We cleared that up and talked to the parents, who are really stubborn, and worked a plan to get him baptized this Sunday. It will be my first one in almost a month and a half. What a long drought! We are planning to put a couple more dates this week.
Raul. is a investigator that has been showing a little more promise. The only thing he really struggles with is the day of rest. He needs to stop working, and when he does that, I think he will be ready to be baptized.
We have a visit from Elder Cook of the quorum of the 12 and so i am excited for that! He is coming to visit all 3 missions in El Salvador on Thursday. Yes, i will have to wake up at 4. Ouch.
That is it this week really. I am grateful for this church and for all the things i have learned in my mission! I love it and look forward to lessons daily, for the chance i have to help change the lives of people living here.
Thanks for all the support, it really means a lot! Love you guys.

Hey everybody! All is good here! Just worked another hard week here in La Labor 2. I feel like I am really coming along with everything. I am finally becoming comfortable with the área and everything, and we are beginning to do some serious work! Everyone says we are making fire with the members. This past week, we doubled the lessons with members that a lot of other companionships have. They have been a huge reason of our success.

People here are really religious and love to talk about christ. However, they dont understnant words like restauration, priesthood, or revelation, words that should be understood if they are devout as they say they are. THis is really what the church that Christ established was built on. It is getting easier to teach because i am learning the tricks and questions that work best. Of course everyone is different, but the point stands.

The committments are a Little different here. Usually it is the regular, read, pray, and go to church. However, a lot of the people here just cant read. That eliminates the Reading committment, and so we read the scriptures with investigators pretty often. It is also good to read with them and help them understand everything, usually they misinterpret everything.

We have been teaching a guy named R. He finally went to church yesterday and seemed to like it. We are going to try and put a baptismal day with him tomorrow, i really think he can be ready by the 2nd or 9th of february. Let’s hope!

We put a date with somebody named C. yeseterday. He has been a Little more difficult to teach because he has pretty much been an active member of the church already. Before he knew a lot of the basic doctine, he was being taught about baptism for the dead and partricrchal blessings in church. This was tough, but we have been working really hard with him and his dad. His dad is still a litle hard hearted, but the 26th of January we should be baptising C.

Final story. Last night we visited this house because we saw this old lady walking around. Usually when this is the case, she is cared for by her kid, their spouse, and their kids. We took this as an opportunity to teach a family. We call for her and she lets us in without hesitation. I was pumped because the probablility of finding a family was so high. Oh, no. Old person after older person kept popping out. their had to have been about 5 or so. >She talked about how her daughter died, and so we sympathized with her for a sec. I asked how old she was and she tells me 77. Yeah, so that puts in perspective the age group of this household. They coulodnt give us a return date to teach, but it was still a good lesson and fun experience haha. so much for contacting a family.

i have been really good this week! it has been one of the most productive weeks on the misión. I am working hard and am learning more and more every day that this church is the only true church in the world.

I love you all and thank you for your support!!

Heyyyyy! Still holding up here in El Salvador. Nothing too big happened this week, it was actually pretty dang slow! It was one of the hardest weeks of the msision, i think. A lot of people weren’t home, and sso we didnt have even close to as many lessons as i would have liked. We have also had a hard time gettng news. No one wants to leave their church.

I dont know if you guys have heard, but a volcano erupted in el salvador! How sweet is that? The people here are pretty nervous. I dont know if it means the volcano by me has a higher chance to erupt, or what, but either way, pretty sweet if ya ask me. Haha.

We were talking to a lady for a while and i had forgotten to tell her my name. After about 10 minutes of taling to her, she asked me if i was from argentina. Haha how cool is that!!! No, my spanish is not perfect, but it is coming along. It was a big confidence booster. I am excited for the day when i can finally say that i can speak spanish! however, i do feel confident talking to just about everyone now.

yeah, this week was a little tough. i will share a little about one guy named J. J alwaaaays has doubts. It is frustrating. I think i told you guys last week that he worships the bible but doesnt pray or go to church. I got tired of tryihng to work through all his questions, so i finally told him he needs to be a better example for his family. His son is nvesting the church and making some progress, but his dad has tought him bad habits and this has prevented his baptism. The son goes to church weekly and to every other activity throughout the week, but his dad has brainwashed him to believe he needs a perfect knowledge. J has doubts about prophets and apostles to, even though in ephesians 2 20 it says that they are key to the gospel of jesus christ, and he told us he wants to speak to Elder Cook from the quorum of the 12 who is visiting on the 23th of january for all the missions in el savldor, but tht is dumb because it wouldnt be exercising faith. We learn in alma 32:27-32 we need to exercise a little faith to see if it is a good seed of a bad seed. And v. 16-18 (i think it is) tells us we cant have a perfect knowledgte. This is something he needs to learn.

my invitation to you guys this week is to have more faith in everything! nothing is more powerful than faith. have faith in your challenges and obsticules, in school, work,, prayers, etc. Todos.

I love you and thank you for your support! A mission has been one of the best decisions i have made. and arguable the best thing to happen to me.
